    The globally harmonised system (GHS) for identification and categorisation of chemicals of the United Nations, builds the base for a unification of the existing systems. It is a new system for categorisation and marking of hazardous material and hazardous goods. As of 2009, the administrative order shall become valid and the GHS shall be implemented worldwide within the next 3 to 8 years.
